I LOVE the album recording, though--don't misinterpret me--but lord if I don't need TRAMPOLINE POWERS AND FLASHING IMAGES OF VITRUVIAN MAN AND WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY to get my IAMX rocks off!

...No, much more my fancy, despite my sheer revulsion at "unplugged" acoustics, is either the dressing room or hallway recordings, moreso the latter in the hallway because it's more haunting and intimate. I do find the guitar+voice solo suits this song in particular quite well on account of its personal, intimate, confessional lyrics--and the hallway acoustics just ACHE with penitence and self-loathing. (The dressing room recording, [link] ) (The hallway recording, [link] ) It's exactly the agonizing sound I need for Cale, hating himself for all the terrible things he does to satisfy his own needs, but nevertheless continues on committing such atrocities. (When his deeds are driven by satisfying Calix's needs, however, they're far more atrocious, and far less careful.)

What more evidence could I need that Kingdom of Welcome Addiction as a whole was MADE for Briar Eclipse?
